Barbie
Barbie was said to be an icon for young girls at the time and has influenced them to look a certin way. I feel that giving something as meaningless as a doll should not be givin that much power. All boys of all ages were surrounded with male figures, ranging from tv super stars, comic book heroes, and mascaline male action figures. Every one of these figures were tall muscular males all blessed with a unbelievable talent or power that aided them to save the world.Even myself at a young age was attached to the screen bright and early every saturday morning to catch everything ranging from Spiderman, to the Power Rangers, to James Bond. All were my heroes no matter what task they had either if it was to fight off flying green goblins from new york, stoppeng the world every week from coming to an end from foreign aliens, or defending the world from the evil Russians. Yet these heroes never put a thought in my head saying how i should learn karate, secretly fight crime, or try to sculpt my body to look like theirs. Why would Barbie has barbie had more power of girls while male super heroes have not? I dont know the answer to that question because i feel that Barbie did have just as much of an impact on girls, none.
