Good Night and Good Luck

This film was a very interesting story of how nbc as a company was forced to make a decission upon either giving important hard facts or just the usual unimportant news. the journalists than choose to go against the current of america constantly agreeing with congress upon their thoughts against communists. With most americans afraid of being under attack of a nucular bomb were unaffraid to voice their oppinions on aggressive communist countries, yet were kept blind from the real facts upon how a communists were decided. Due to these journalists leading the way for hundreds of followers to do the same as them and stand and fight for what they think is right no matter what the outcome might be. Journalists like these were raised under the old saying " Stand up for what is right, even if you're standing alone" a saying that at heart means if you see something being wrong done, not too be afraid to be the first to object to it. a saying that needs to be taught more to the youth today.

Obama vs. McCain

Does the picking of a president really bring out a massive difference in the fall out of a country? I feel that it does not, in a country where any and everydecission to change something such as a law or spend the economy's money must be ran through several boards and panels of people whos thoughts and beliefs dont differ much from party to party. What defines a freat historic president in my eyes is more luck than skill. with the next years being a complete mystery, how can a person defend themselves ahead of time upon the action their conscience will advise them to do based on their deepest and most inner feelings. Every one has a negative comment or two about Bush's actions upon the 9/11 tragady, but on an event as severe as that would any human be able to make a decision that will please the entire nation. It all comes back to the saying we were taught at a young age " No one is perfect" not even american presidents.

classic video games

No game left behind is the motto of most people who truly love playing video games. Video games no matter the technology being used to power the game, are all great devices of fun. Pac Man on the brick like game boy, Burger Time on the Atari, Duck Hunt on the N.E.S. "Nintendo Entertainment System", grand theft auto on the playstation, and Mario Kart on the 64, all were games that deffined me and my friends's generation. these classic games have had countless hours played on them and are highly respected in every loyal video gamers minds. Everyone has the classic game that at one time weather it be stuck on a plane or vehicle for a several hour trip or grounded in a room unable to be free outside the house, no one can honestly say that they havnt sacrificed
an hour or three on the unbeatable game of tetris. No good video game should or ever can in this time and age die again, and i believe no more will.

Video Games

Video games have had the reputation to influence the users and make them violent. Being a active violent video game player i find this offensive, the most violent thing that a video game has ever influenced me to do is the occasional throw down of a controller with the always releaving F bomb drop when a level kicks my ass. The critics like to rely with the argument of an inncident where a young boy was ingulffed in an intense R.P.G. " role play game" where the kid committed suicide after his player hes put together for several years died. what the critics dont say is how besides the kid playing the video game he was also mistaking his anti depressants along with trapping himself in a single bedroom appt alone for 2 years where the family has a known history of depressed males and suicide cases. Most if not all males at this campus here at fort lewis along with about every other college in the nation if handed a controller of any kind is able to weild it as though they were born with the technique. Not only do all know how to use it but all also have a knowledge of the better video games that most of the time turn out to be the one being talked about on the news as being too violent, bloodly, or are equipped with the annoying M on the box to ensure that only adults 18 year of age or older can play it. I feel that that is unnessacary, last year i was constantly around a 10 year old boy who during his free time spent all hours of a screen cunning through las vegas killing every terrorist that came into sight and saw no change in his judgement of not being able to tell the difference of the game and reality. Something as meaningless as a videogame should not be ginen the rumor of having the power to change a persons character to commit a crime.

Barbie

Barbie was said to be an icon for young girls at the time and has influenced them to look a certin way. I feel that giving something as meaningless as a doll should not be givin that much power. All boys of all ages were surrounded with male figures, ranging from tv super stars, comic book heroes, and mascaline male action figures. Every one of these figures were tall muscular males all blessed with a unbelievable talent or power that aided them to save the world.Even myself at a young age was attached to the screen bright and early every saturday morning to catch everything ranging from Spiderman, to the Power Rangers, to James Bond. All were my heroes no matter what task they had either if it was to fight off flying green goblins from new york, stoppeng the world every week from coming to an end from foreign aliens, or defending the world from the evil Russians. Yet these heroes never put a thought in my head saying how i should learn karate, secretly fight crime, or try to sculpt my body to look like theirs. Why would Barbie has barbie had more power of girls while male super heroes have not? I dont know the answer to that question because i feel that Barbie did have just as much of an impact on girls, none.
